Hey y'all!!
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! I sure did!
Especially being able to talk to family! I missed them so much but it was so
great to talk to them on Christmas! I don't know how many of you have seen
Isabelle lately but she is getting so tall!! It is a little crazy!
Last Tuesday we had a lesson with one of our friends who has
not come to church yet and it was a really great lesson. At the end of it the
member that was there with us mentioned doing a church tour with our friend to
get him to see the church and he seemed pretty excited to do that. We took him
later that night to go see the church and met a different member there too. He
loved it and we were hoping that he would come to church, he wasn't able to
come but hopefully he will be able to soon.
Christmas eve we were running around little town giving out
little plates with Christmas goodies on it and that night we went caroling with
one of the youth in our ward, and she was being quite the missionary passing
out pass along card. The night before we took her and a group with us and we
knocked on this door, started singing and she said at the end of our first song
that in the 8 years they had lived there she had never had carolers and she was
really excited for us to be there. She requested that we sing a hymn and before
we were done singing silent night she was in tears, the spirit was so strong.
The Christmas Spirit really is a real thing!:)
Christmas day we had 3 dinner appointments and by the end of
the day if I would have put one more thing in my mouth I would have exploded.
In this area if people offer you food you take it, they make the best homemade
mac and cheese too:)
So this coming week makes one year ago that I entered the
MTC and I cannot believe how fast this year went by!! Really though. I have
learned so much and have started truly understanding the blessings that the
gospel brings to our life when we live it! I hope you all have a wonderful new
year and stay safe!
Love SIster Mauck
