Hey Y'all
Sorry there was no email last week, I was a little stressed
and trying to get lots of stuff done because I got transferred to a new area
just a week before Christmas but man have we seen some miracles come from it!!
So last Monday we had a district meeting that was really
cool!! My last companion and I were in charge of a large teaching portion and
we were to teach a part out of chapter 7 in PMG which I was a little confused
because that is the language study chapter and was not sure how we were going
to take up much time with that. But our district told us to study it with
learning the language of the spirit in mind.... That was the coolest thing
ever. I would invite you all to do that. Study ch 7 of PMG with learning the
language of the spirit you will learn lots, especially by the spirit. Also that
night we had Dinner with some members and our recent convert and his mom who is
not a member and at dinner the recent convert told his mom that he was getting
the priesthood on Sunday and he was so excited for it!! That was a cool
experience to see and his mom was super supportive of what he wanted to do:)
So my first day (Thursday) in my new area we had a super
cool experience tracting... The last door we knocked on a lady let us in and we
taught her about the Book of Mormon and she invited us to come back which was
pretty cool!
The second day the second member I met has a dad who is in a
wheel chair and has a hard time talking but is really great and super
knowledgeable and served as a mission president and get this in 1960 he served
a mission in Wyoming and he was serving in the one SHERDIAN BRANCH and went to
buffalo a few times to find people to teach because there was no church here at
all... how crazy is that!! He showed me some names of the people he baptized
and I recognized a few last names. It was really one of the cherished moments I
will have on my mission. Also that night
we had a crazy experience were we had both of our last companions call us
because me and the sister that use to be here just switched places. Anyways
they got permission to call us and it was really funny because they asked us
for the address of my new area. We knew they were not calling for that reason
because the sister that left here had been here for 6 months and new the area
really well. Anyways we found out why they called us. So they asked me if I
forgot a phone... What?!? then I remember that one of the members daughters
were playing with an old phone around my bag and I took it out of my bag while
I was packing. I didn't know she had put it in my bag and forgot to tell my
companion about it and I just left it on the floor in our room haha. It was
super funny though.
We had a great sunday at church. The ward was really cool
and very inviting and I am so excited for this upcoming week!:) Hope you all
